Duties of the Sheriff
The duties of a sheriff in Tennessee include keeping the peace, attending court sessions, serving court orders, and operating the jail. The sheriff is responsible for maintaining peace, preventing crime, and arresting criminals. They also have duties at the courthouse, such as keeping order and attending court sessions. Additionally, the sheriff serves court documents and orders, and operates and oversees the jail.

Informing Others: We lead discussions in school classrooms, meet with civic organizations, and work with churches in drug recovery programs and other efforts.
Saving Lives: We want to teach as many people as we can how to administer a simple dose of Narcan to revive an Opiod overdosed person.
Appropriate Force: When necessary, we will use the force necessary to subdue a criminal with the least amount of violence possible.

Crime Control & Investigations
We will work diligently to investigate and arrest those committing crimes and threatening our communities and the safety of our people. We treat our prisoners humanely during their stay in our modern jail.
Traffic Control
Our children are precious resources. Not only do we provide traffic control at schools, we also provide School Resource Officers in cooperation with the Town of Centerville.
Out in the county, we monitor traffic for safe driving.
Victim Services
We are dedicated to assisting and empowering victims of crimes. We treat victims and survivors of crimes with empathy, compassion, professionalism, and respect.
Animal Control
Abandoned animals and animal abuse are far too common problems.. As part of our staff, we will have an animal control officer who works in conjunction with local human services for animal welfare.
Firearm Permits
We will help you deal with obtaining permits and training for your firearms.
Addiction Recovery and Rehabilitation
We work closely with addiction treatment professionals, recovery churches, and rehabilitation facilities to help people recover from this terrible disease.
